Perfect DIY Valentine’s Day Gift!

Here’s a sweet little gift your girlfriends or other ladies in your life will love — homemade heart-shaped body scrubs. They’re easy to make and inexpensive, too.

Ingredients

1 cup coconut oil

1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar

Essential oil

Red food coloring

Heart-shaped mold

Instructions

Coconut oil is solid at 75 degrees, so you may need to warm it on low heat to liquefy. Mix in a few drops of essential oil and a few drops of red food coloring to get a nice pink color.

Let the coconut oil cool before you add the sugar otherwise the sugar will dissolve (and then your scrubs won’t have any scrub to them).

Note: You can use light brown sugar if you prefer. Its granules are softer than white sugar’s and because it’s less processed it has a few more nutrients, but brown sugar’s color will make the scrubs less pink.

Pour the mixture into the mold and refrigerate.

Pop out and tie a few together with a pretty ribbon or whatever cute gift packaging you choose, and they’re ready for gifting.

Store in a cool place.
