Lathes are expensive – even mini ones like these!
But in this video, Canadian woodworker Jack Houweling shows you step by step how he crafted a small version of this handy tool using a power drill, plywood, and a few other basic materials.
Jack was inspired by friends who’d ask him why on certain projects he didn’t just use a lathe. That would be because he didn’t have one, so he thought he’d try his hand at making one himself.
Turns out building a lathe might just be easier than using a lathe! But we’re sure he’ll get the hang of it soon enough. See what we mean in the video below.
