Dress Up Plain Mason Jars in a Jiffy

Next time you want to give guests a mason jar dessert to take home from your Fourth of July party, make it extra sweet with this easy-to-do etching treatment.

All you’ll need are star-shaped stickers, glass etching cream, and a little time for it to work its magic. Finish it off with off some kraft paper and red-and-white twine.

This simple idea is great for any occasion. Use scary stickers for Halloween and fill with candy corn. Etch snowmen and trees and angels for Christmas and fill with peppermint candy canes. Balloon shapes would be great for birthdays or other celebrations. The possibilities – and the fillings – are endless.

Or you can etch the glass to soften the light of tealight candles or a DIY mason jar pendant lamp. If you want to use the jars as storage, you can etch an “label” on them using letters.
