It’s not all about the food – Thanksgiving is about, well, giving thanks for all the blessings we enjoy.
Bring the idea home with a fun and easy DIY Thanksgiving centerpiece that will get your guests in the spirit of the holiday by making a gratitude tree.
How To Make a Gratitude Tree
Fill a glass vase with cranberries, pebbles, pine cones, acorns, small gourds, or whatever autumnal decor items you desire.
Insert a tall branch which has offshoots in the center. Choose one you found outdoors or purchase from your favorite craft store.
Get craft paper in beautiful fall colors and cut leaf shapes out of them. Punch a hole along the “stem” end of each leaf.
Use the leaves at first as table cards, writing your guests’ names on one side and putting one at each place setting. During the meal ask everyone to write one thing that they are thankful for on the blank side of their leaf, and have them share what they wrote.
Hang the leaves from the tree with ribbon or twine.
