Plus It Makes Use of Ugly Fabric

Avid sewers somehow always acquire a stash of fabric they would never make even a catnip toy out of it’s that ugly. And yet they’d hate to waste it, too. Well, if that’s you, dig it out because this quilt project will make good use of it!

Wanting to make her daughter a comfy quilt like her own grandma once made her, Skyler of AwaitingAda crafted a bubble blanket that cleverly used up a kooky quail print. (Even just seeing the reverse side, you kind of get the idea of its ugliness below.)

Here, the quilt is almost complete. The ugly fabric provides the stuffing for the individual puffs. Then, Skyler made a ruffle and attached it to a minky. Now all that’s left to do is to attach that to the fabric bubbles.

The result? Oh, baby! Gorgeous, right? … And the bubble quilt is super-cute, too! : )
